Knowing, Being, and Doing

with Self, Community,

and Planet

ONLINE RESOURCE CENTER

Anyone can do a Green Releaf. Through the years we started with an online presence sharing sustainable relief tips and ideas. As an online resource center, we collaborate and develop guidelines and modules for nourishing and sustainable relief and rehabilitation using appreciative inquiry.

Check out our Downloadable Resources page to view what we have come up so far.

WORKSHOPS

We conduct workshops inspired by how nature works through ecological systems thinking and design. At the end of the workshop, we guide communities in designing their own relevant initiatives adapting to their existing needs and their collective vision.

Inner Food

Live Food education on food as medicine and food to nourish the body and the soul. The workshop is based on many studies on the power of live enzymes in food eaten in its natural state (uncooked) in assisting the physical and emotional body's detoxification and immune system strengthening.

Transformative Eco-Arts

Arts relief activities using earth elements inspired by earth wisdom beliefs and practices from cultures and traditions around the world to assist in psychosocial support and emotional recovery. It also provides an extensive module combining therapeutic process using earth based media that also applies waste management learnings into functional artworks like upcycled segregator bins, MRF murals, refurbished playgrounds, mudhouse murals, etc.

Permaculture Gardening

Enabling communities to be self reliant by growing their own food using a permaculture urban garden design system.

Natural/Refurbished Building Techniques

Rebuilding a collective space (Child Friendly Space and/or Community Center) the natural way using mud, natural objects, recyclable, and residual resources.

Regenerative Community Design

An inclusive process that guides the design of a community's recovery and/or rehabilitation action plans in a living, and whole systems way involving the inner and outer aspects of self, community, and planet.

EXPLORING NEW MODELS OF RESILIENCE, TRANSFORMATION, AND SUSTAINABILITY

“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” ― Richard Buckminster Fuller

When we started responding to the huge amounts of plastics and pollution involved in relief operations, we asked, "How can we solve the problem of climate change without the very same actions that caused it in the first place?"

Since then we developed two models:

1) the Green Releaf Process which guides volunteer and donor groups in designing their relief operations with less or zero carbon footprint as much as possible and

2) the Garden to Garden Releaf that begins with soucing live food relief from the garden and ending by creating permaculture gardens in communities.  We conduct workshops inspired by how nature works through ecological systems thinking and design. At the end of the workshop, we guide communities in designing their own relevant initiatives adapting to their existing needs and their collective vision.

Green Releaf is constantly evolving through an active-reflective process to provide the following platforms:
